CYCLUS TOOLS CHAIN LINK COUNTER
When the time comes to replace a worn chain, it is essential to determine the exact number of links for the new chain. During its lifespan, the bicycle chain lengthens considerably: a new chain and an old chain of the same length will therefore have a different number of links. Simply measuring the chain length is not sufficient; it is much better to replace it with the exact same number of links.
Compatible with bicycle chain widths from BMX (single-speed) up to 13-speed models.
Includes: includes a pencil for marking the chain link.
How it works:
- Place the link counter on the chain and reset it to zero.
- Mark the chain link next to the link counter.
- Rotate the chain one full revolution, until the marked link returns to the same point.
- Read the indicated number of links.
- Use the link counter to measure the new chain (a new chain with the same number of links will be shorter than the old, worn one).
