CYCLUS TOOLS crank extractor M24x1 - M15x1

After securely fixing the crank to the axle by tightening and torquing the crank bolts to the correct specification, a special extractor is required to safely remove the crank arm from the axle. What to do when the bottom bracket axle does not have tapered mating surfaces, as is the case with e-bikes? In this situation (threaded bottom bracket), an additional support is necessary, because the position of the crank is determined solely by threaded connections and the standard removal method is no longer applicable.

We have the solution: the new Cyclus crank extractor, with a longer extraction stroke (over 20 mm). The new Cyclus extractor allows you to remove both older type cranks and deeper, modern ones quickly, safely, and professionally.

To make the best use of the new CYCLUS TOOLS extractor, the following components are required:

• Crank internal thread: M24x1


• Bottom bracket connection thread: M15x1

Special note: with the help of the CYCLUS TOOLS cutter (art. 720235), it is possible to first ream out damaged crank threads (M22x1); subsequently, using the CYCLUS TOOLS tap (and die: art. 720245), a new M24x1 thread can be cut. At the end of the operation, you will not only remove the crank but also repair it. Your customer will greatly appreciate this service.

Note: make sure you have the Cyclus Tools thread guides. Once a new thread is cut, you can use the Cyclus Tools extractors and remove the crank as usual.
