After securely fixing the crank arm to the axle, tightening and applying the correct torque to the bolts, a specific puller is required to safely remove the crank arm from the axle. What to do when the bottom bracket axle does not have tapered mating surfaces, such as on e-bikes? In this case (threaded bottom bracket), an additional support is necessary, as the position of the crank arm is determined solely by screw connections and the standard removal method is no longer applicable.

We have the solution: the new Cyclus crank puller, with a longer stroke puller (over 20 mm). The new Cyclus puller allows you to remove both older and newer, deeper crank arms quickly, safely, and professionally.

To make the best use of the new CYCLUS TOOLS puller, the following components are essential:

• Crank arm internal thread: M24x1


• Bottom bracket connection thread: M12x1

Special note: with the help of the CYCLUS TOOLS cutter (art. 720235) it is possible to first ream out damaged crank arm threads (M22x1); subsequently, using the CYCLUS TOOLS tap (art. 720245), a new M24x1 thread can be cut. At the end of the operation, you will not only disassemble the crank arm but also repair it. Your customer will greatly appreciate this service.

Note: ensure you have the appropriate Cyclus Tools thread guides. Once the new thread is cut, you can use the Cyclus Tools pullers and remove the crank arm as usual.
