Currently, especially on e-bikes, bottom bracket axles no longer have conical surfaces. Instead, the crank is fastened exclusively via stops and threaded connections. The position of the stops is often too long to loosen or remove the crank with traditional tools, which is why this "long working stroke" tool was developed. With this tool set, it is possible to disassemble the cranks from their respective axles. The long working stroke (over 20 mm) makes the extractor universally applicable. Whether it is a pressed crank or a new type with a threaded stop, both systems can be removed quickly, safely, and professionally.

It is possible to restore the existing crank threads with the M22x1 tap, or cut a new, larger thread into the crank using the M24 pilot hole reamer and the M24x1 thread repair tap. For precise and safe work, the set includes the corresponding guides.

The following dimensions are essential for using the Cyclus Tools extractor:

• The existing bottom bracket connection thread (e.g., M15x1).


• The internal thread of the crank (e.g., M22x1).
